The best you can get! With out a doubt, I would suggest this restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!! People. For those wanting to try the restaurant, know that you are not walking into ritz and glam. As in any restaurant, staff can be limited on certain days and they work very hard. The staff is wonderful and of course busy! The place has many fans. The place is absolutely clean and the atmosphere is a "country feel". I would have to assume that those writers do not know good seafood when they have it and there expectations for a restaurant are more Ruths Chris style? Boon Docks is out in the "boonies" you could say and on the water. I am quite disappointed in the negative reviews this restaurant has received. There are days that the seafood is exceptional and taste better than others but it is NEVER bad! IThat's what happens when you get seafood that isn't from another country, farm raised and frozen! Some catchs are better than others. Even though locals eat here, there still can be a long wait but is comfortable enought to walk around, shop, go on the pier with colada in hand!Īs someone who has grown up around the beaches and knows good seafood, I can confidently say that Boon Docks is an excellent restaurant. I am kicking myself that we did not order the homemade pies after reading the other reviews. Even the sides such as the creamed corn, grits, and hushpuppies were good. They were very lightly breaded which allowed you to taste the seafood. The other members of our group had some fried seafood called "boat Trash" consisting of fried grouper, oysters, shrimp, and crab.
